Apple iPhone 16 series to feature redesigned camera module, bigger display: Find out what latest dummy units reveal
Although it is still quite early, some images of dummy units of the upcoming next-generation iPhones have surfaced online, offering a better glimpse of the potential design modifications on the iPhone 16 line of smartphones. These phones are expected to be released in September 2024.
The latest dummy models of the iPhone 16 series hint at a redesigned camera island on the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, and a bigger 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch display on the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max, respectively.
There have been reports that suggest an increase in the display size of the Pro models, which align with earlier leaks. Although the iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Plus are quite similar in size, the Pro model is expected to have the largest screen ever seen on an iPhone, with minimal bezels and a higher screen-to-body ratio.
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to maintain the same screen size as their predecessors with a 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch 60Hz screen respectively. However, the camera island on both models will be updated to a new style similar to that of the iPhone X. This new design may enable 3D or spatial video recording capabilities.
The overall industrial design appears to be similar to the previous generation models, with a glass-metal sandwich design. All four devices are likely to include USB-C ports for charging and data transfer.
The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are expected to share a similar appearance with their predecessors, including the triple camera setup. However, they are rumoured to be larger, featuring a bigger screen and battery. The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max may also incorporate premium materials like titanium, while the standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are likely to be made of aluminum.
Earlier leaks have hinted that all four iPhone 16 models will get an action button, and all four iPhone 16 models will include a Dynamic Island. This also means the iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Plus might end up costing similar to their predecessor, while the iPhone 16 Pro series might again see a price hike, making them the most expensive iPhones.
